My Approach

I believe therapy should help you feel understood, supported, and equipped with tools that make a real difference in your everyday life. My approach is trauma-informed and integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and reparenting work to help you create meaningful, lasting change. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to your unique needs, drawing from evidence-based techniques that support healing of both the mind and body.

CBT helps us understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another, allowing us to identify the patterns and beliefs that may be keeping you stuck. DBT builds on this foundation by teaching practical skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and healthier relationships, helping you navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and resilience.

I also incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS) and reparenting work to help you understand yourself with greater compassion. Many of the struggles people experience, such as people-pleasing, perfectionism, difficulty setting boundaries, a harsh inner critic, or constantly feeling responsible for others, often develop as ways of adapting to painful or emotionally neglectful experiences. Together, we'll explore where these patterns began, honor the role they've played in protecting you, and help you create new ways of responding that feel healthier and more authentic. Reparenting work focuses on healing the unmet emotional needs from childhood by learning to give yourself the validation, safety, compassion, and boundaries you may not have consistently received. This work can be especially meaningful for individuals healing from childhood trauma, emotionally immature or narcissistic family dynamics, or relationships that have left them disconnected from themselves.

Because trauma and chronic stress affect more than just our thoughts, I also take a nervous-system-informed, holistic approach to therapy. Healing doesn't happen through insight alone. We pay attention to how stress and trauma show up in the body and practice techniques that restore a sense of safety, grounding, and emotional balance, allowing change to feel more natural, steady, and sustainable.

Sessions are collaborative, supportive, and tailored to you. Some days we'll explore the experiences and patterns that have shaped your life. Other days we'll focus on practical skills you can apply immediately, whether that's calming anxiety, setting healthy boundaries, improving communication, navigating difficult relationships, or feeling more emotionally grounded. Therapy isn't about fixing you; it's about helping you reconnect with your strengths, deepen your understanding of yourself, and build a life that feels more aligned, peaceful, and fulfilling.
